Wanted: Woman 36+ Seminar

Friday March 27th, 2:00pm–5:30pm, Bio Rex

Where are the girls and women on screen? Do they exist only as side characters in a man’s world? What roles are there for women, other than wife, whore and mother? Half of mankind is female, but there does not seem to be enough room for female leads, especially after a certain age.

Women in Film & Television Finland ry invites film professionals from Finland and Sweden to have a discussion from both the filmmakers’ and audience’s point of view. In the panel we will have Swedish actress-director Lisa Werlinder (Munich, Gossip, A Song for Martin), Finnish screenwriter Karoliina Lindgren (Armi elää!), actress-musician Kirsi Ylijoki (Kotikatu, Sydänjää), actress-screenwriter Pihla Viitala (Kesäkaverit, Mustat lesket, Käsky), actress Anu Sinisalo (Ei Kiitos) and actress-screenwriter Tanja Heinänen (Säälistäjät). The discussion will be moderated by the director of Helsinki International Short Film Festival Elina Rislakki.

The discussion is held in Finnish and English. Free admission.
